A large brush fire continued to burn in southwest Miami-Dade on Monday. The Bluegill fire broke out Sunday close to U.S. 41 near Mile Marker 25. Around 750 acres were burned and the fire was 0% contained, according to the latest update from the U.S. Forest Service. A portion of U.S. 41 was shut down at one point on Sunday but later reopened. Officials said smoke from the fire may impact visibility along the highway and drivers should use caution. Miccosukee Police said nearby Everglades Safari Park was evacuated as a precaution.
