Person struck and killed by train in Pompano Beach, BSO says

Authorities are investigating after a person was struck and killed by a train in Pompano Beach on Sunday night. The incident happened shortly after 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of North Dixie Highway and Northeast 2nd Street. Broward Sheriff s Office officials said deputies and fire rescue crews responded and found the person, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity hasn t been released. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
